sunday sweetness #22
Morning readers & a very happy weekend to you!
Last week the wedding world (and I’m sure yours too!) was filled with romance and love hearts as we all celebrated Valentine’s Day with our loved ones. Whether you spent a glamorous evening being wined and dined (and maybe proposed to?) or cosy at home with a meal in for two, I hope you managed to make time to spend with each other. This weekend I’m sharing my favourite V-day posts ~
If cute and colourful is your thing, you will love this I Heart You inspiration shoot from Brooklyn Bride. Ever the blog to showcase the modern alternative options, I love the bold bright colours with added cuteness factor!
Victoria Mary Vintage’s idea of Valentine’s is some what more soft and romantic. Some beautiful inspiration combining soft elegant blush pinks with lace and a delicate touch of sparkle. Simply devine
This week I have been captivated by The Wedding Reporter’s account of Franky and Carl’s movie-star wedding. With one part shared each day this week, and each full of emotion and heart, you are sure to laugh and cry and feel as though you were really there while reading Emma’s carefully thought words. And if you missed it a few weeks ago, you can see all the images over on Love My Dress.
I say it often, but I’m going to say it again, whether you are dating, engaged or happily married you always need to remember to make time for your other half amid the busy lives we all lead. Michelle from Pocketful of Dreams asked her favourite wedding professionals and friends to share their thoughts on what Love Is… this Valentine’s day. Take a moment to pause and remember what love means to you too.
for the pro’s
Emma Meek, the lady behind fabulous bridal boutique Miss Bush is known and respected for saying it how it is, so if you get her stamp of approval, it’s pretty high praise indeed! Janet Mohapi-Banks got just that in a fabulous post from Emma this week (read her blog by the way, it’s hilarious!) but as fantastic and Janet is, I’m not sharing this post today for that reason. The reason I am sharing it is these words from Emma ~
“For all the strategic marketing planning, preferred partner status and merry-go round of trade and consumer shows the simplicity of having met a bright and beautiful woman on a bright and sunny day was enough to start a friendship and a willingness to work together”
And this is the truth, in our industry with a warm smile or hug (alongside your obviously exceptional talent) you will go far. Forge relationships that go beyond the professional and make lasting friendships that will support you and your business through the good times and the not so good. And with so many of us self-employed and working from home alone, isn’t that just what you need? A network of friendly, professional people, who will inspire you, promote you and support you in your business as much as you will theirs.
Stay sweet xo
